Photos: The Graffiti Project at Kelburn Castle

“Take the vibrant and often transient art form of Brazilian graffiti out of its predominantly urban context and apply it to the ancient and permanent walls of an historic rural castle in Scotland.”
That was the idea behind The Graffiti Project at Kelburn Castle near Largs, where Brazilian street artists Os Gêmeos were invited over to paint a whole side of the castle. Kitsune Noir posted a bunch of pics of The Graffiti Project earlier today, which got me to thinking about these pics given to me by Andrew Sharp, which follow the spraypainting in progress, and also covers the Scottish graffti wall at the viewpoint. All photos are by Sandy Cuthbertson, there’s loads more after the jump.
