Kings Only: Rule Your City
“A King is one whose position is hereditary and who rules for life. We strive for excellence through artistic creativity, hustle, and dedication,” says Brandon Howard the PR mouth of hip-hop streetwear company Kings Only. “Why be a noble when you can be a King!!”
The idea is simple: Kings Only design clothing to represent your area. And so we have shirts for LA, the Bay Area, NYC, Orange County to name a few: “Everybody no matter race, age, or gender wants to represent where there from. So we came up with the concept ‘Rule Your City’.” I asked Brandon if the brand is popular out in the streets of California where the enterprise is based, he said: “here in our city we get a sighting everyday! In the other cities our supporters send pictures wearing the shirts.”
Kings Only is a street brand with hip-hop culture at it’s roots. Legendary names who’ve rocked the brand on their chest at some point include Bay Area MC E-40 and the notorious Snoop Dogg, and if you bounce on over to their Myspace profile you can listen to their favourite hip-hop joints from the now (currently Take Notice by J Dilla… nice choice). I asked Brandon what the brand have up their sleeve for 2008? “More International t-shirts! This summer Kings Only will be going on a nationwide tour across America. Keep checking the websites for updates and keep repping your City!”
