Damu the Fudgemunk
Pulse - Official Mix, by Damu the Fudgemunk
While the industry elite are busy scheming ways to recoup megamillions lost through unlicensed file-sharing, some artists and musicians are still in the right mind as to why the internet can be a good thing for business– ie. that it offers an unprecedented platform for artists to distribute and promote their work, without the regulation and self-interest that might limit their reach into mainstream music press.
One such artist is Damu the Fudgemunk– with little more than a blogspot-hosted blog, the Washington DC based hiphop producer is growing a custom strain of fans and customers with a series of free album and viral video releases. Damu’s latest release is Overtime, an album of mostly jazz-flavoured intrumentals, plus a couple of vocal appearances from Damu himself and Boston emcee Insight.
