RSNO Orchestra Events in Glasgow

Promotional designs for a series of genre-pushing orchestral events held in Glasgow by the RSNO.
Forget the stereotype of classical music as a powerhouse of snobbery. The Royal Scottish National Orchestra have arranged a hat-trick of events which reconsider the modern context of orchestral music, and are taking place in Glasgow in June.
The first event is the wonderful Concerto For Turntables and Orchestra, which stars founding-Mixologists crew member Beni G performing alongside the orchestra, in a concerto scored by Gabriel Prokofiev, who is grandson of the famous Russian composer of the same surname. From the RSNO website:
“Acclaimed DJ Beni G will orchestrate smooth symphonic sounds, Hip Hop beats and explosive orchestral samples live on stage to create a unique audio visual experience followed by an after show party like no other.”
The next event is Video Games Live on June 26, which is a courageous performance of your favourite music from computer and console games, accompanied by “synchronised cutting-edge visuals, state-of-the-art lighting and special on-stage interactive segments.” Definitely not one to be missed! The third event features “rock icon” Elvis Costello with the orchestra on June 21. All events are taking place at the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow.
Thank you to Jon Melville for the heads-up. He’s already written a preview of the Video Games Live event. Links!:
