Saul Williams LP out now, for free if you like

Hip-hop’s poet laureate Saul Williams has released his new album online, and available for free if you don’t want to pay. “The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust” is produced by Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, who previously encouraged Chinese listeners to illegally download his music if they couldn’t get it through legal means. The free version includes the full album in 192kbps MP3 plus a fully-illustrated .PDF lyric book, but those who want to pay can purchase “…Niggy Tardust” for five US dollars and get the tracks in DRM-free 192kbps or 320kbps mp3s, or as giant uncompressed FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) files. For those who haven’t downloaded it yet, the album is deep! Williams’ adopts the real-life persona of a black rock superstar while Reznor expands his productions horizons, giving an overall quality of art that simply doesn’t exist on major record labels anymore.
