Write a novel this November

Online literary-wannabes listen up. With November just over the horizon, it’s that time of year again when thousands, yes thousands, of everyday people who would never write a 50,000 word novel in 30 short days, do exactly that. It’s National Novel Writing Month! Less a foray into the art of writing, more a “literary marathon”, NaNoWriMo (which is the official abbreviation) has spread like wildfire since it’s conception in 1999, and very soon people all over the world will be typing like possessed maniacs and sharing their writing experiences with others online. Don’t worry if you can’t write– the organisers promise that they “won’t read a single word of your novel”. How novel!
